Bachmann Condemns Removal of Pro-Israel Statements from DNC Platform

Blaine, MN — Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-06) released the following statement today after learning that the Democratic Party removed language in their Party Platform that stated “Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel.”

“At a time of unprecedented attacks and uncertainty in the Middle East, Israel needs America to have their back now more than ever. Instead, at this critical hour President Obama and his Party have backtracked from their support of Israel.

“America should be sending an unmistakable signal that Israel has our steadfast support, but this latest action from President Obama shows how much he can’t be trusted on foreign policy. This is the most anti-Israel President we’ve seen since the Jewish state was reborn on May 14, 1948.

“I am proud to offer my unwavering support for Israel and state unequivocally that Jerusalem is its capital. It’s time we have a President who is also committed to standing with our ally Israel.”
